THE JOURNEY MATTERS
Triathlon is more than swim, bike, and run. It is about growth, discipline, and becoming someone your family is proud of.
Why This Started
This began as a personal challenge. A way to push myself physically and mentally, to build consistency, and to see what I was capable of when I truly committed to something long term.
Like most people, I came into triathlon figuring it out as I went. Early mornings, missed sessions, small wins, frustrating setbacks, and everything in between. There was no perfect plan, just a willingness to show up and keep going.
Over time, I realized something important.
There are a lot of people out there just like me.
People balancing careers, family, and life, while trying to train, improve, and enjoy the sport. People who are not elite, but still want to take it seriously. People who want structure, clarity, and confidence on race day without overcomplicating everything.
That is who I build for.
My Approach
I believe triathlon should be:
Structured, but not overwhelming
Serious, but still fun
Challenging, but sustainable
You do not need to overcomplicate this sport to improve.
You need consistency. You need a plan. And you need a system you can rely on when nerves kick in on race day.
And for me, it also needs to fit into real life. Being a present husband and father will always come first, and that is exactly why I focus on efficiency, simplicity, and systems that work.
About Me
Hey, I’m Greg.
I’m not a professional triathlete. I’m not chasing podiums or world championship qualifications. I’m someone who fell in love with the process of getting better at something that is incredibly hard.
And that is what Greg’s Tri Journey is all about.
I’m also a husband and a proud father. That role shapes everything I do.
Triathlon, for me, is not just about training or racing. It is about setting an example. It is about showing my son what it looks like to challenge yourself, to stay disciplined, and to keep going even when things get difficult.
Because one day, I want him to understand that growth comes from doing hard things, not avoiding them.
Why I Created This
Greg’s Tri Journey is a place to share what actually works.
Not theory. Not fluff. Real systems, checklists, and lessons learned from being in it.
From race day preparation, to transitions, to gear decisions, to managing training alongside a busy life, everything I share is something I have either used myself or refined through experience.
The goal is simple:
Help you feel more prepared, more confident, and more in control when it matters most.
Follow the Journey
I am still in it.
Still learning. Still improving. Still showing up.
Balancing training, work, and family, and figuring it out as I go.
If you are on a similar path, I would love to have you along for the ride.
You can follow more of the day-to-day on Instagram @gregstrijourney, and check out the resources and downloadables available throughout the site.
At the end of the day, this is not about being the fastest.
It is about becoming better than you were yesterday.
And hopefully, inspiring the people closest to you to do the same.

Thanks for being here, and remember to:
KEEP HAVING FUN WHILE YOU SWIM, BIKE, AND RUN!
